As far as I know, if you filed for 485 and crossed 180 days after that with the same employer
Chandu, this is what I want to get answer from IV or Attorneys who are helping IV or IV can get clarifications from USCIS. how many are with same employers. We have many who lost jobs in between changed employer using h1 or EAD. changed jobs with EAD (so not a problem becuase they have used EAD)
problem is only for those who were on h1 and lost job, in between they are on bench for 1 or more than 1month.
If you manage to find a job pretty quick, then you can go for h1b transfer and it should not be an issue, but if it is taking time, then you may have issues

Fact is you can always make smaller contribution using pay pal or make $100 one time contribution in every few months.
You have no intension to make contribution, so just try to find excuses for not contributing.
Might be thinking �it not my fault�. only if IV lowers contribution amount�. You can keep thinking this and make yourself happy.
I shall say please don't repeat the same thing over and over again. ... if it doesn't work it doesn't.... yes... i will leave this forum soon, if things remain naggingly same.
And please remember it's bottom up that works here not top-down.

Thanks Almond. At this point, I am hoping USCIS will at least allow me to change jobs (remember - I am on 7th year H1b - approved I-140, did not apply for I-485 due to retro). some members here said this is possible and some other members said I cannot do this. so I am confused if I can do this or not. If at all USCIS lets me do this, it would be great if I can find a new employer who can do EB-2. I am praying to God to help me while I try this route. I am not asking too much here... am I ?
No, not at all. It's perfectly normal to want to advance in life and to want to move on to better things. I think the best thing to do right now would be to go for a consultation with an immigration lawyer. Or, if you cannot afford it maybe you can schedule an InfoPass appointment and ask the rep there what your options are. But I'd say a lawyer would be the best option.

Oh, I trust the attorneys to file it correctly, I was just wondering if there was any way of finding out if it was received and processed correctly. With the H1B, 140, 485, etc. you get a receipt notice, but I wasn't sure if that was the case with the G28, probably not.
The thought of the remote possibility of any correspondence from the USCIS going to the old attorney (for whatever reason), and not making it to me/new attorney in time to respond to it, is a little unnerving.
Well, anyway, no point losing sleep over these things, although it is easier said than done.

I agree. And this has happened. This happens NOT because new Attorney's G 28 did not get filed properly, it happens because VO may mix it up. Usually when a employer requests a revocation of 140 - in real - what the employer requests is "As this employee has left the company the prospects of his future employment with us is not there and we will not support this 140 petition in future. In other words an employer is telling INS "They will never hire you in future".
So the VO does two things here. They send acknowledgment letters to the employer and their Attorney on file and send RFE/NOID to you and your Attorney. In this process some mix up might happen. Remember, a lot of VOs are very ignorant about AC21 and they may not follow the guidelines properly. Under the AC21 law it is clear that all you do is to change job to a same/similar position. As long as you follow law nothing must happen.
Check your online status regularly - if you see LUDs call customer service - verify your address. If you do not get mail in 5 days - call again - if it is 15 days past call and ask them to fax it.

Recently, I stopped taking all these racial comments in a serious way, 2 days back my co worker made comments on how my "curry smells" when eat at my desk. My wife wakes up early in the morning and cooks the food with so much love and affection and I eat that, whereas he eats burgers and fries from cafeteria - look at who is commenting??????
I can understand the love your wife has for you. But I think you should enjoy that lovely lunch at a cafeteria. Smells can be very offensive. I love Indian food, but if I had to smell the Indian food in my cube everyday I would be pissed too. There is nothing racist here. I would be pissed if your coworker eats a burger with raw onions and then talks to me with that smell.
This is one of the first things new Indian students are told: Smell (or lack of it) is very important in America. Don't reuse socks, Use deodorant and enjoy the curry at home.
