That IO must be a knucklehead who just hates "Specific type of people" or someone who does know the f** he is doing. I have entered using AP at Boston. San fran, Seattle and never had problems. Only once they asked me for EAD/a valid H1 petition and that was just a question.

Recently I met one friend. He was visiting his friend for vacation in New Orelans. When he was washing his hands in the rest room (in a shopping complex or Mall), suddenly he saw 3 or 4 guys surrounding him, hit him and took away his vallet and cell phone. Within a short time his credit card was used for a huge money around $2000. He was hit so bad that his nose bones broke into pieces and he has metal installed now for him to breath properly. I am not sure if this is due to bad economy or enemity over immigrants.
New Orleans was already in a bad shape due to Hurricane Katrina. Crime there is very high after what it went through. Anyway all these attacks have more to do with robbery ( or altercations ) rather than legal immigration attacks. The attackers don't care while attacking you whether you are here legally or illegally.

I have listened to a couple of speaches by Bernake in NPR. Basically that guy is completely in the blank on how to handle the economy. He simply says, we are in this mess, because the lenders were very lenient. Fed measures such as interest rate cut and pumping money into the banking system is causing the dollar to fall thus further weakening the economy.
I say, we all write to Bernake that some 10, 000 immigrants will buy homes if we all get a GC. 10, 000 may or may not buy a home, but let us just polish the numbers a little bit. 10,000 * 300,000 (average home price) = 1 million billion dollars . Actually the total figure is 3 billion $$; enough to give a massive jolt to the sagging economy. I think we should also write to Wall Street journal and all major news paper organizations about this.

llc and s-corp are same for the situation you brought up... however, you gotta be mindful of the "corporate veil"... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piercing_the_corporate_veil trap... which can affect any company llc or corp... dont worry, there is nothing bad in it... just make sure that you keep real good records and separate business operations from personal...
further i doubt that s-corp or corp is a promotion over llc as your post seems to suggest...
anyway... your choice is not bad... and neither is mine...

the low risk lies in the fact that any adverse decision you may have to take ever (God forbid) like bankruptcy does not affect your own personal credit history and assets. I am not sure whether the same exists for corp or not. So I may be wrong regarding the low risk factor of LLC. But I always had the notion of starting any venture as an LLC and then moving on to a corp.

The case is not in his wife's hand anymore. As soon as the police came on site the case is People Vs Terriblething. Only thing is that the DA may be a little weary of pushing too much if his only eye witness (the Wife) does not want to push the matter.

I know for sure that local office send an e-mail to processing center, it is not in Nebraska or Texas, it is at National Benefits Center (MSC). Mine and my husband's status of EAD was "no decision" . The e-mail sent to MSC with request to finalize the decision. I did not take any evidence, I did not know at that moment that I could. But it worked and I had my EAD after 7 days to be exact.

Given the size of the illegal community, they will start pushing the USCIS through their morchas, etc to process faster and the legals can benefit as a result.
If the amnesty bill passes, you are better off pointing immigration violation and perhaps tearing you passport and claiming being illegal

A quick analysis of election results and its relevance to us:
As of 11:45 PM PST, House has gone to Democrats in a landslide; the Senate is on its way depending on outcome in Montana and Virginia. If Democrats win MT and VA (Jon Tester in MT, Jim Webb in VA), the Democrats would control the Senate too.
What it means for us:
Change of control in the House:
This is of biggest consequence. Since Democrats won the House, every chairman of every committee in the house will be a Democrat. They will decide what goes into each committee, what comes out of the committee, what gets floored on the house floor and when. They set the agenda, they set the timetable. They run everything...including what gets served in the House Cafeteria and who occupies which office and who gets how much budget to run their offices. Republicans in the last few years have followed the mantra of “Majority of the majority” when it came to setting the agenda and timetable of house floor votes. What this did was, bills that would win the majority of 435 votes by combining Democrats plus moderate Republicans never got floored onto the house, since the majority of majority (conservative republicans) were against such CIR and by that token non-receptive to the legal variety of immigration.
To get an idea of the minority in the house read this quote from more than a 100 years ago:
”The job of the minority is to make a quorum and to draw its pay.”

Throughout 2006, the biggest obstacle to high-skills-only bill to be floor on the full house or on the judiciary committee was the Republican controlled judiciary committee headed by Jim Sensenbrenner. Even if Republicans would have controlled the house, it would not have been Sensenbrenner, it was his last term as chair of judiciary committee. Whenever there was a non-CIR bill related to high-skills employment based immigration, like the one sponsored by John Shadegg (SKIL bill of the house) it was referred to House Judiciary committee. And Sensenbrenner basically put it on the shelf. That would change. How much? Only time will tell.

Didn't do that(For my own personal reasons). Hoping for having enough time (1 day or two max) before my PD gets current and I send in my future wife's AOS on the first day they become current. If it gets approved, I am screwed and she has to have her own GC processing.
Also, send your application just before Aug 17th (say 15th).
I couldn't wait, because I have to attend my sister's marriage on Sep5th, so, now, I am waiting for the receipt. I am in such a bind, looks like I aged two years in 15 days :) .

First it wasn't 1000, we had over 2000 people registered and many joined after or did not register. So please don't say 1000, it is extremely painful for everyone who attended to be considered as "not counted".
1. Politically having a rally in D.C makes it more visible for all the law makers there. Laws/amendments and all the political activity happens there. Rallies else where would make it to one or two news cycle but won't be remembered after wards.
2. Meeting lawmakers, staff from various constituents wrapped around an event like a rally helps a lot in getting the message across. It raises a lot of awareness.

I would have agreed with you that numbers like 100,000 matters, but after being there and seeing the amazing capabilities of IV to organize meetings and having members meet over 100+ meetings with law makers, staff, talking to to them, sharing personal stories, advertisement and media campaigns around D.C has convinced me that it has and will make a difference! Personally for me, it was an eye opener on how the system works and I totally understood exactly why IV leaders set it up this way just by being around and them for a few days!

I think this has been discussed on some other thread.. would it be a good idea to make the contributions public.. may be, this encourages others to contribute, when they realize how much more is needed to reach the monetary goal.
In January, IV already said that they raised nearly 200K in 2006. Also, there are federal reports on www.opensecrets.org and senate's office of public records about how Immigration Voice spent money. They spent nearly 140,000 in 2006.
I think that is enough transparency. There will be more when they file tax returns.
